Community Town Hall

Location: International Rescue Committee (IRC) Atlanta Office, 2309 Parklake Drive, Atlanta GA 30345

Date/time: Tuesday May 2nd, 5:30pm – 8:30pm

The IRC in Atlanta invites the community to join them on Tuesday May 2nd for a Community Town Hall to coincide with the President’s 100th Day in Office. Join IRC as they discuss the impact of the xenophobic and unwarranted travel bans that unjustly targeted our refugee, immigrant and Muslim neighbors, and as we look towards the future for refugees and the resettlement program here in Georgia.

You will hear insights from IRC Atlanta’s executive leadership team, the Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Veterans for American Ideals, and Georgians for Syrian Refugees, and hear directly from refugee families about their experiences coming to America during this time of political uncertainty. Q&A session and group discussion will follow.

Meet and Greet: 5:30pm – 6:30pm

  • Join us after work, network and meet fellow community members and IRC staff
  • Food trucks will be on site for dinner and refreshments

Town Hall Meeting: 6:30pm – 8:30pm

  • Current events discussion panel with IRC executive leadership team, CAIR Georgia, Veterans for American Ideals, Georgians for Syrian Refugees, and recently resettled refugee families
  • Q&A session with panel and guests

Together, we can help those most in need rebuild their lives and show that the people of Atlanta believe in American values and welcome refugees into our community.
