As detailed in our legislation recap yesterday HB452 – creating a public registry of non-citizens/legal residents including names, photos and home addresses; ostensibly to facilitate their detention and deportation – crossed over from House to Senate.

The benefit of this is that your Representative is now on record as having supported or opposed this piece of anti-immigrant legislation. Please go here to see how they voted.

Take a moment to contact your Representative and depending on whether they voted “Nay” or “Yea” let them know how you feel.

If they voted “Yea” send your Representative the following email:

Representative ???????,

I was disappointed to see your “Yea” vote in favor of HB452.

HB452 further exacerbates the xenophobic rhetoric making its way through our state and country.  I welcome all newcomers, including refugees and immigrants, to Georgia and to our community and expect the state legislature to reflect those same ideals.

Thank You,
