Updated alert with the Attorney General’s email address. See below.

First please sign THIS PETITION if you have not done so already.

Please then take a moment this morning to call Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr and ask him to join the attorney generals of sixteen other states who have taken a public stance by signing a public statement to fight President Trump’s executive order for travel bans — calling his demands “unconstitutional, un-American and unlawful.”

Please call Attorney General Chris Carr’s office at (404) 656-3300 and state…..Please ask Attorney General Carr to join the sixteen other state attorney generals who signed the statement  promising to ensure that as few people as possible suffer from the chaotic situation President Trumps executive order banning refugees has created.

If you need more…..Resettlement is a core American legacy that extends freedom and opportunity for refugees to rebuild their lives in safety and dignity. I support the resettlement of refugees into Georgia, and welcome refugees into my local community. I expect the Attorney General to support the openness to refugees this country was founded upon.

Please also email Attorney General Carr at ccarr@law.ga.gov with the following message (or a personal version of it) and the subject line “Support Refugees”:

Attorney General Carr,

I support refugee resettlement in the U.S. I am strongly opposed to the announcement from President Trump that slashed refugee admissions, brings all resettlement to a halt, stops resettling refugees from certain countries, and preferences religious minorities. This discrimination flies in the face of core American values and this country’s founding principles. It does not reflect the welcome for refugees I see in my community every day. Please sign onto the public statement signed by sixteen other AG’s urging President Trump to abandon this plan and make a public statement that you will use the powers of your office to not enforce this ban.

Thank You,
